Taylor Swift Releases First Re-Recorded Album
On April 9, 2021 Taylor Swift released her first re-recorded album, “Fearless (Taylor’s Version). Swift’s 2008 album is the first album of her re-recording process. When deciding what album to re-record first, Swift said that her decision was made pretty easily. “I always gravitated towards Fearless because I think that, as an album, it was a real coming-of-age. And I look back on that album and it fills me with such pride, and it was an album about hope, and lessons learned, and the effervescence of teenage youth and all that. What more fun than to go back and explore that?” she said. Along with the original twenty songs on the Fearless album, there are six songs from the vault and a bonus track that is a remix of Love Story.
All of the songs were analyzed line by line to make each song ‘the same but better.’ It has been 13 years since the original release date of Fearless, so Swift's voice is much more mature in her version of the album. “I think that I tried to keep it as close to the original as possible, and the additional songs that I’ve added are songs that I think add insight into what the album almost was,” explained Swift. “Because every time you make an album, you leave some songs off, and I think it’s really cool that the fans will get to have the full picture this time around.”
Swifts album broke records the day it was released. “Fearless (Taylor’s Version) reached No. 1 on the U.S. Apple Music chart, making her the first female country musician to make it at the top of Apple Music streaming service rankings.
