Matt Oakley is On Fire in New Single
Do opposites attract? Singer/songwriter Matt Oakley certainly thinks so. In his new single, “Fire and Water”, available everywhere on January 17, the artist explores what it’s like to be in a relationship that just works.
“Fire and Water” follows the release of Oakley’s most recent project, “Soldier’s Son” a vulnerable look into Oakley’s background as a military child. The song “summarizes what it meant to be the son of a soldier…and the gratitude I share for all that serve.”

His newest song, “Fire and Water” is a thank you letter to his sweetheart and a testament to how powerful love can be. Oakley claims that this love hit him from out of nowhere, singing "I never thought I'd/Give in but I let her/Take a broke man/From hopeless to changed for the better". The chorus details a relationship of balance, as Oakley sings "Girl we're like fire and water/Forgiveness and sin/As my flame burns hotter/Your rain pours again/That's when you reign me in/As I'm chasing the wind".
While this may initally seem like a relationship that lacks compatibility, Oakley's words prove that sometimes, it takes two completely different people to create something long lasting.
