Katy Perry Marks Her Territory in New Doechii Collaboration

The mother of pop music, Katy Perry, has officially returned–and she’s back with a message to anyone who wants her man. Her newest project, “I’M HIS, HE’S MINE”, released on September 13, is a collaboration with viral hip-hop/rap sensation Doechii (“NISSAN ALTIMA”, “What It Is”).

“I’M HIS, HE’S MINE” follows the release of “LIFETIMES”, which hit streaming platforms in early August of this year. Both songs, along with her single “WOMAN’S WORLD” will appear on Perry’s upcoming album “143,” which drops on September 20. This album marks her first full-length project in four years.

The new single, produced by Dr. Luke and Rocco Did It Again, is about feeling comfortable in one’s relationship. It exudes “that girl” energy, layering Katy and Doechii’s voices over a fun, bouncy beat. The message is empowering, oozing confidence while simultaneously reminding Katy’s competitors to stay in their lane.
