CAROLYN MILLER RELEASES "STAY" (SUGARLAND) FOR THE FANS
(Nashville, TN) – Off the heels of a “career year” (Taste of Country), New York’s emerging country star CAROLYN MILLER delivers a stirring rendition of Sugarland’s “Stay,” available now on all streaming platforms. This is Miller’s first release of 2022 and the first of 6 songs set to be released over the next 6 months. Listen HERE.
Made famous by Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, “Stay” is a 2008/2009 ACM, CMA, and Grammy award winning hit song that showcases Miller’s powerful and melodic vocals, along with her storytelling chops.
“In the height of the pandemic, I turned to livestreaming in order to spread a little bit of joy through music during such a dark time” she explains. “Each week, I would change up the theme, take requests, and I lost count how many times ‘Stay by Sugarland’ came across my screen! I finally decided to learn it, and it has quickly become one of my favorites to perform.”
A one-take, live acoustic video of the song was premiered by Taste of Country at the end of 2021. The video went on to have over 125,000+ views on TikTok and hundreds of comments requesting a studio version for release. “After seeing the response to the live acoustic video and the support from Taste of Country, I knew I had to do more” Miller says. She recruited the help of Andrew King (Vibe King Studios) and a mix of top notch Nashville musicians, including Billy Justineau (2022 ACM piano/keys player of the year nominee, Eric Church bandmate).
Miller had a massive 2021, including appearances at Carolina Country Music Fest, Summerfest, Barefoot Country Music Fest, FarmJam Festival, support dates with Lee Brice (watch them perform “I Hope You’re Happy Now” here), Eli Young Band, a slew of national anthem performances, and headlining dates of her own.
Additionally, she took the digital world by storm when her self-penned wedding song “When I Say I Do Today” went viral on TikTok, with over 2 million plays, and debuted on the iTunes Country charts at #3 and #4 in the USA, UK, and Australia (#19 all-genre). The music video also saw support from CMT. Streaming platforms have been eager to support the budding star, with her releases being featured on Spotify’s “Fresh Finds”, “Fresh Finds: Country” and “New Music Nashville” playlists, as well as Apple’s “Best New Tracks” and Pandora’s “Rising Women of Country”.
