A Journey from Humble Beginnings: Tom Cary - Man I’ve Become
Tom Cary is an accomplished songwriter and rising artist within the country music scene. Since the release of his debut album ‘Smile’ in 2020, he has been working his way up the country music ladder at a staggering speed with international airplay, and recognition including the release of his latest single ‘Something in the Whisky’ which debuted at #1 in the iTunes Country Chart.
Tom has worked with many musicians over the years including Paul Young, Newton Faulkner, & Michael Buble but he hasn't always been so fortunate. Coming from a very modest background on the south British coastline, at a young age, his family experienced incredible hardship but it is from these experiences that this new single stems from!
“I was one of the lucky ones. My dad introduced me to Country music from as long as I can remember. I had found music and music had found me, so I knew I was always going to be okay. There was all of a sudden a higher purpose for me.”
Man I’ve Become - The Story
“I used to be a full time busker in my local town, Truro and the surrounding areas and, it was sometimes extremely interesting! Some of my best friends at the time were homeless people and I used to chat to them all the time, listening to their stories. One thing I learnt through these experiences was that we are all human and we should treat every single person with dignity and respect. I used to give them money from my case to buy coffee and food and, going through those times kept me extremely humble and grounded. As a result, 'Man I’ve Become' is a song that is very close to my heart as it is written about my journey through life and music; from the early days of starting out as a musician, to where I am today and never forgetting to always be humble and kind along the way.”
