Billy Don Burns Releasing Record Store Day Special LP
You won’t hear his name very often in today’s music circles, but this guy was one of the original bad boys of outlaw Country. Billy Don Burns was crankin’ out tunes back in the days of Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Johnny Cash; He’s written with Willie Nelson and Sammy Kershaw, and on April 16th he’ll be bringing something special to record stores across the country: a previously unreleased album, “A Night In Room 8!”
In the beginning of 2014, Burns, Shooter Jennings, and Colonel Jon Hensley recorded an album in Room 8 of the Joshua Tree Inn in Joshua Tree, California. Room 8 is where singer/songwriter Gram Parsons was found dead in 1973, which adds an eery character to the record. In the last year, Burns has turned a new page in his life, which we can only be happy to hear! “A Night In Room 8” will be out on white vinyl at record stores on April 16th, and on digital & CD formats on June 17th!
