Chris Stapleton Has “Nobody To Blame”
Sometimes, people rise up out of nowhere and take the world of music by storm. I think we all know exactly who I’m talking about here: Chris Stapleton. His single, “Nobody To Blame,” snuck up to #14 on the Billboard Country charts this week, which is no surprise given his recent accomplishments. This guy has had a legendary 6 months, taking home 3 CMA awards and 2 Grammys; he’ll be going into the ACM awards in April with 6 nominations, where “Nobody To Blame” will be in the running for song of the year!
Part of why “Nobody To Blame” sticks out so much so in the Country world today is because it doesn’t sound like most modern country. The song is riddled with fiddle and older, western-style instrumentation that brings us back to the old days. Every verse and chorus tells a different part of the story, but is unified at the end with “I’ve got nobody to blame but me.” This song will have you laughing as you listen to the story unfurl, and by the end you won’t be sure who to feel more sorry for.
